We are looking to recruit a Network Engineer to join our Data and Network Services team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and maintaining the Council’s corporate and schools network infrastructure.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, monitoring of our LAN/WAN environment, which includes Cisco and Aruba switches and wireless access points. The role also includes managing and supporting web filtering solutions and firewall policies to ensure secure and reliable access for both corporate users and schools. The post holder will also be responsible for carrying out site surveys for new sites and new builds, ensuring network infrastructure is designed and implemented to meet performance, coverage, and security requirements.
We are seeking an individual with technical experience in network infrastructure, along with an understanding of modern cybersecurity protection systems. You should be confident in installing and managing network devices, troubleshooting network issues, and contributing to the ongoing resilience and security of the environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting and maintaining corporate and schools network infrastructure
- Configuring and troubleshooting Cisco and Aruba switching and wireless environments
- Supporting the implementation and operation of Security Solution, such as Firewall\web filtering
and email filtering
- Carrying out site surveys for new sites and new builds, including wireless coverage planning
- Deployment\Installation of network infrastructure.
- Monitoring network performance and responding to incidents
- Documentation and inventory management.
- Contributing to cybersecurity best practices and protection measures across the estate.
