At MacIntyre, we know that the best support starts with meaningful relationships, listening well, and believing in people's potential. We're looking for a passionate Senior Support Worker to join our team and play a key role in helping people live the life they choose.
You'll be supporting adults with multiple learning and physical disabilities, aged from their mid-twenties to mid-sixties, to enjoy everyday moments, build connections, and experience the things that matter most to them. Whether that's sharing a meal, spending time with friends, enjoying a favourite hobby, exploring the local community, or simply having a relaxed day at home, you'll help make those moments possible.
As a Senior Support Worker, you'll lead by example, helping to create a warm, welcoming and person-centred culture where everyone is valued and heard.
Working closely with the Frontline Manager, you'll:
-
Develop and manage staff rotas
-
Complete supervisions and support staff development
-
Deputise for the Frontline Manager when required
-
Coach and mentor colleagues through day-to-day guidance, reflection and encouragement
-
Identify learning and development opportunities within the team
-
Promote high-quality, person-centred support in everything you do
Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you'll provide hands-on support tailored to each person's individual needs. This may include:
-
Medication administration and support
-
Supporting people with eating and drinking, including PEG feeding
-
Encouraging independence and choice in everyday life
-
Supporting people to enjoy activities they love, such as swimming, arts and crafts, meals out, community events and day trips in our minibus
Our homes are places where people live, not services where people are placed. Staff and the people we support share meals, celebrate achievements, build relationships and enjoy life together.
Many of the people we support communicate in ways beyond words. You'll learn to understand individual communication styles, recognise subtle cues, and respond with curiosity, patience and respect.
The impact of your support can be seen in the smallest momentsa smile, a laugh, a look of recognition, the confidence to try something new, or the comfort of feeling understood.
At MacIntyre, we are ambitious for the people we support and for each other. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to live a life that is rich in relationships, choice, belonging and purpose.
We're looking for someone who:
-
Shares our values and commitment to person-centred support
-
Has experience supporting people with learning disabilities and complex needs
-
Enjoys developing and supporting others
-
Can lead with compassion, confidence and positivity
-
Is committed to helping people live fulfilling lives on their own terms
-

-
Full-time: 37.5 hours per week
-
