Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation and cooking, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications
- Support senior chefs in maintaining food safety standards and cleanliness within the kitchen
- Contribute to food presentation, ensuring dishes meet quality standards before service
- Assist with stock control, including receiving deliveries and storing ingredients appropriately
- Maintain organisation and cleanliness of workstations and kitchen equipment
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations
- Supervise junior staff when required, providing guidance and support in food production tasks
- Uphold hospitality standards by ensuring timely service and excellent customer experience
Experience
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling and hygiene
- Experience supervising or managing team members is desirable but not essential
- Demonstrated skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Familiarity with restaurant operations, including serving procedures and customer service principles
- Previous experience in food production, culinary arts, or related fields is highly advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Primarily kitchen work, however more hours could be available if able to cover Front of House also.
