Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Community Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in our local communities. The role involves supporting clients with non-regulated daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such preparation of meals according to dietary requirements.
- Support with medication administration in accordance with care plans
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment
- Manage behaviour effectively, especially in clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation
- Monitor and report any changes in health or behaviour to the relevant healthcare professionals
- Engage in activities that promote mental and physical well-being
Skills
- Experience in community or home care services
- Knowledge of patient care practices, including dementia and Alzheimer's care
- Ability to perform first aid and respond effectively in emergencies
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards clients of all ages
- Driving licence and own vehicle preferred for transportation duties
- Capable of heavy lifting when necessary for client mobility or equipment handling
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Organisation skills for managing medication schedules and daily routines
- Flexibility to work shifts that may include evenings or weekends if required
