GMP Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Laser Setter Operator to join a busy manufacturing environment in Pershore. This is a hands-on role operating CNC fibre laser cutting equipment within a fast-paced production setting. The successful candidate will have strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality components.
Working hours are 7:00am – 4:15pm, Monday to Thursday, and 7:00am – 12:00 midday on Fridays.
The role offers a pay rate of £14.00 – £16.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Set, operate, and troubleshoot CNC fibre laser cutting machines (Amada systems)
- Operate and manage multi-flex sheet loading systems within the production process
- Load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance
- Select, inspect, and load raw materials using nesting program information
- Carry out processing of materials in line with production requirements
- Complete quality checks and record finished goods inspections accurately
- Identify and resolve programming or set-up issues
- Support continuous improvement activities, including 5S and lean manufacturing practices
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in line with procedures
- Work effectively as part of a production team
About You
- Proven experience operating and setting CNC laser cutting machines (Amada preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
- Confident using measuring equipment such as micrometers and verniers
- Experience working with varying material thicknesses (approx. 0.6mm – 25mm)
- Strong awareness of health & safety practices in a manufacturing environment
- Team-focused with a flexible and proactive approach
- Forklift experience is desirable but not essential
- Adige tube laser experience would be an advantage (training can be provided)
