Job Overview
We are seeking a enthusiastic and customer-focused Part-Time Jewellery Sales Assistant to join our team in Newquay Town Centre. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop retail and sales skills within a vibrant jewellery store environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, assisting with product display, and supporting sales initiatives. Flexibility to work during peak shopping hours is essential, and previous retail experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide expert advice on jewellery products
- Assist customers with selecting items that meet their preferences and needs
- Maintain attractive product displays and organise merchandise according to company standards
- Upsell complementary products to maximise sales opportunities
- Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
- Handle customer enquiries via phone and in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Keep the store clean, organised, and well-stocked throughout the shift
- Support promotional activities and seasonal displays as required
- Develop a good understanding of jewellery features, pricing, and current trends to inform customers effectively
Experience
- Previous retail or sales experience is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided
- Strong communication skills
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and stock counts
- Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Excellent time management to ensure all responsibilities are completed within shifts
- Phone etiquette skills for professional customer interactions over the phone
- Ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining excellent customer service standards
