As an Apprentice Fabricator / Welder, you will support the Workshop team in carrying out a range of welding, fabrication, and basic mechanical activities on specialist vehicles, plant equipment, and associated components. You will learn how to complete both structural and cosmetic repairs, assist with body panel replacement and modifications, and support the manufacture of bespoke components. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will develop practical skills in welding and fabrication techniques while gaining exposure to mechanical repair and maintenance activities. All work will be carried out under supervision, ensuring it meets company standards, engineering specifications, and health and safety requirements.
Assist with welding and fabrication tasks under supervision
Support structural repairs, modifications, and component replacement activities
Learn to interpret engineering drawings and follow technical instructions
Carry out basic cutting, shaping, and preparation of materials
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and safety within the workshop
Follow all health and safety procedures, including correct use of PPE
Support mechanical tasks alongside Workshop Engineers when required
Accurately complete documentation with guidance from supervisors
Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to team activities
Participate in training and development opportunities
Assist with off-site or mobile repair work where required
Undertake general workshop duties, including manual handling tasks
