Salary:
LSA - WS Grade 3 point 3 (£24,796 pro rata)
MDMS - WS Grade 2 point 2 (£24,413 pro rata)
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern:
LSA - 8.30am to 12pm (17.5 hrs)
MDMS - 12pm to 12.45pm (3.75 hrs)
OR
MDMS - 12pm to 12.45pm (3.75 hrs)
LSA - 12.45pm to 3.30pm (13.75 hrs)
Term Time Only
Location: Nuthurst, Horsham RH13 6LH

What You Need to Succeed
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support the class teacher in delivering high-quality learning and care for children, including those with Special Educational Needs. Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Supporting children’s learning through scaffolding, guided play, group work, and one-to-one interventions
- Monitoring children’s progress, observing, recording, and assisting in assessments
- Supporting the personal, social, emotional, physical development of children
- Promoting positive behaviour and a caring, respectful classroom environment
- Working with pupils with additional needs (SEND) to ensure inclusion
- Liaising with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff to plan and review interventions
- Helping maintain an organised, stimulating, safe learning environment
- Building positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
Person Specification / Qualities We Seek
We are looking for someone who:
- Preferably has experience working with young children
- Have a minimum qualification of Grade C GCSE for Maths and English, or equivalent (NVQ Level 3 desirable)
- Demonstrates warm, caring interpersonal skills and a genuine love of working with young children
- Has excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children, parents and staff
- Can adapt to individual children’s needs and use differentiated approaches
- Is proactive, flexible, reliable and a good team player
- Shares and upholds Christian values and is willing to contribute positively to our school ethos
- Is committed to ongoing professional development
