About the Role
The Supply Pool is recruiting SEMH Teaching Assistants to work in partnership with a specialist school in Stoke-on-Trent. The school is part of the Shaw Education Trust, a respected multi-academy trust committed to providing high-quality, inclusive education.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in education, care, youth work, or for graduates who are passionate about supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
You will play a key role in supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them engage positively with learning and develop essential emotional and behavioural skills.

- Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

What You’ll Need
✅ Experience working with challenging behaviour in a school, care, youth work, or similar setting
✅ Ability to use de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour management strategies
✅ Confidence and composure in challenging situations
✅ Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
✅ Calm, empathetic, and solution-focused approach
✅ Current DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
✅ Proof of right to work in the UK
