Long Term Futures are recruiting a confident and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a secondary school in Barking, supporting students across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people with behavioural, pastoral and SEMH needs.
You will work closely with teaching staff, Heads of Year and pastoral teams to help students overcome barriers to learning, improve engagement and achieve positive outcomes both inside and outside of the classroom.
The school is looking for an individual who can build positive relationships, implement behaviour strategies and provide consistent support to students requiring additional guidance throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour support across KS3, KS4 and KS5
- Support students with behavioural, pastoral and SEMH needs
- Implement behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Work closely with Heads of Year, SEN teams and teaching staff
- Support students during lessons, interventions and unstructured times
- Promote positive behaviour, attendance and engagement with learning
Contribute to behaviour improvement plans and student progress reviews

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
-
Experience supporting young people with behavioural or SEMH needs
- Confidence working within a secondary school environment
- Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies
- A calm, resilient and consistent approach
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Background in mentoring, youth work, SEN or pastoral support (desirable)
