HGV Refuse Driver
The rewards
- £17.47 per hour (weekdays)
- Higher rates for weekends and overtime
- Long-term contract with potential to become permanent
Hours
- Monday to Friday with potential evening and weekend overtime
- AM shifts: start at 5:00am, 6:00am or 7:00am
- PM shifts: 12:30pm to 9:30pm
- Approximately 6.5 hours per shift
The role of HGV Refuse Driver:
- Drive along designated routes to collect refuse and recycling waste
- Check routes for safety restrictions, planned roadworks and traffic to ensure smooth operations
- Complete all required paperwork including job logs and incident reports
- Perform daily vehicle checks and report any issues promptly
- Adhere to site rules and regulations including correct PPE usage
The ideal HGV Refuse Driver:
- Valid HGV licence
- Minimum 6 months HGV driving experience
- Able to complete enhanced compliance checks (Right to Work, references, proof of address, National Insurance number)
- Strong attention to safety and reliability
