Desser & Co are a manufacturer of British-made cushions, specialising in loose sofa and chair cushions, as well as upholstery. We offer a bespoke cushion service, meaning there is a wide variety of products and fabrics to work with.
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Overlocker to join our production team on a temporary 3-month contract.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Operating industrial overlocking machines to prepare cushion covers and upholstery components.
- Producing high-quality overlocked seams across a variety of fabrics and materials.
- Occasional threading of Papasan cushion buttons.
- Trimming threads and checking finished work for quality.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Supporting the production team to meet daily output targets while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Working Hours & Pay
- Monday to Friday
- 40 hours per week
- Flexible start times between 6:00am and 8:00am to suit childcare and commuting requirements
- 8-hour shifts
- No weekends
- £12.71 per hour

Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience operating an industrial overlocking machine is essential.
- Experience working with a range of fabrics and upholstery materials.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
This is a temporary 3-month contract, offering an opportunity to join a friendly, established British manufacturer with a reputation for producing high-quality bespoke cushions.
