Job Purpose - To maintain the care home's buildings, equipment, and grounds, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
Main Duties
- Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and decorating throughout the home.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests.
- Maintain the home's gardens, pathways, and external areas.
- Complete regular health and safety checks, including fire safety, water temperature monitoring, and general building inspections.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with health and safety requirements.
- Liaise with and supervise contractors when required.
- Maintain maintenance records and report any defects or safety concerns to the Home Manager.
- Ensure tools and equipment are used and stored safely.
- Assist in maintaining a comfortable, safe, and welcoming environment for residents.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in general building maintenance or a similar role.
- Good practical skills across a range of maintenance tasks.
- Basic understanding of health and safety.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and respectful of residents and colleagues.
Other Responsibilities
- Attend mandatory training.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by the Home Manager that are appropriate to the role.
Pay: £13.00 per hour
