Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a commitment to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. This role is essential in supporting the daily operations of the nursery and ensuring that each child receives the attention and care they need to thrive.
Duties
- Assist in the planning and implementation of engaging activities that promote children's development.
- Supervise children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Support children in their daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and personal hygiene.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a positive nursery environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the nursery space, ensuring it is welcoming and safe for all children.
- Manage behaviour in a positive manner, using appropriate techniques to encourage good conduct.
- Collaborate with senior staff to assess children's progress and contribute to their individual learning plans.
Skills
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities while working as part of a team.
- Competence in managing multiple tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- A genuine passion for nurturing children's growth and development.
- A valid driving licence may be beneficial for transporting materials or attending off-site activities.
