Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and versatile General Assistant to support our team across various operational areas. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in hospitality, food service, and customer engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, guest services, and general duties to ensure smooth daily operations. Prior experience in hospitality, or hotel environments is advantageous but not essential; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are key. The role involves working where excellent communication and food safety standards are essential.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with health and safety standards
- Provide exceptional guest services by welcoming visitors, answering queries, and ensuring a positive experience
- Serve food and beverages courteously while maintaining high standards of presentation and hygiene
- Maintaining cleanliness of the service stations
- Handle phone enquiries professionally using good phone etiquette
- Support the team with general duties such as restocking supplies and organising work areas
- Follow food safety protocols diligently during all food handling activities
- Assist with organising event setups or special functions as required
Skills
- Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant service, or hotel environments is desirable
- Knowledge of food preparation and safety standards
- Proficiency in cooking or culinary skills is a plus
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly and professional manner
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced settings
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene practices
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently when needed
