The Site Commissioning Engineer manages and executes commissioning activities for data centre projects, ensuring that mission-critical systems are installed, tested, integrated, and handed over safely and efficiently with a satisfied customer.
About The Role
Key Responsibilities
Commissioning Planning
-
Develop commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules which align with clients commissioning schedules

Review design documents, specifications, and construction drawings.

Coordinate commissioning activities with contractors, consultants, and clients.
-
Support risk assessments and method statements.
System Testing and Validation
-
Carry out, witness and verify factory acceptance tests (FATs) and site acceptance tests (SATs).
-
Perform pre-functional and functional testing of:
Electrical systems (switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators, PDUs).
-
Mechanical systems (chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers, pumps).
-
Building Management Systems (BMS).
-
Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS).
-
Fire detection and suppression systems.

Execute integrated systems testing (IST).
Quality Assurance

Ensure systems comply with:
Project specifications.

Client requirements.
-
Industry standards and regulations.
-
Identify defects and manage resolution through commissioning trackers.
Coordination and Reporting

Coordinate with:
Construction teams.

Equipment vendors.
-
Design consultants.
-
Operations teams.
-
Prepare commissioning reports and test documentation.

Track progress against commissioning schedules.
Handover and Closeout

Verify completion of all commissioning activities.

Compile operation and maintenance (O&M) documentation.

Support client training and final handover.

Ensure all systems are ready for live operation.
