Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards
- Oversee food safety procedures, hygiene standards, and proper storage practices
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs effectively
- Develop new recipes and menu items to keep offerings innovative and appealing
- Train and mentor junior staff to enhance their culinary skills and teamwork
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all kitchen operations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
- Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster a collaborative atmosphere
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in restaurant service or catering is highly desirable
- A passion for culinary arts coupled with creativity and innovation in menu development
