SEND Teaching Assistant, Birmingham

We are building a new school-led supply bank for a partnership of local academy trust schools across Birmingham, Solihull, Dudley and the Black Country. We are now clearing teachers and support staff for September supply work, including day-to-day, short-term, long-term, and potential permanent opportunities. Our member schools are based in Birmingham, currently looking for Teaching Assistants to join their team for the September Term.
Your responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant
- Getting the classroom ready for lessons and clearing away afterwards to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Experience in supporting children with special education needs (i.e. SEMH, Austism, ADHD, neurodivergent
- Assisting Teachers in preparing the lesson materials and school equipment
- Recording and reporting a pupil’s progress to the Teacher
- Helping pupils stay focused during class hours
- Supervising group activities, sports events, and school outings
- Helping Teachers manage student behaviour
- Looking after children who are unwell or upset
- Providing a healthy and safe learning environment for children
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or a relevant Childcare / Teaching qualification. Or experience within a children's residential home/SEND school.
- Experience working with children in a primary school or nursery setting.
