Designer (Windows, Doors and Curtain Walling)

JPJ Installations provides market-leading design, fabrication & installation of high-performance and cost-effective architectural aluminium curtain walling, windows, doors and sloped glazed roofing systems (Kawneer, Schueco and Metal Technology). We aim to be the UK’s leading provider of such services.
Due to a good pipeline of work, we are now looking for an experienced designer to join our team. Reporting to the Technical Design Manager, you will be responsible for the design delivery for allocated projects from concept through to final issue. Our project values typically range from £100k - £4m.
Main Duties:
· Produce detailed design drawings using AutoCAD
· Interpret architectural drawings and specifications
· Ensure compliance with system supplier requirements and relevant UK, building regulations and British Standards
· Liaise with project managers, site teams and clients
· Manage drawing revisions and approvals
· Attend project handover meetings and any relevant client/architect meetings as required
· Respond to technical queries and support project delivery
About you:
Essential
· 2 years’ experience as a designer in a similar field, with experience using at least one of the systems offered (Kawneer, Schueco or Metal Technology).
· Strong AutoCAD skills
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
· Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and relevant British Standards
Desirable
· Experience working for a subcontractor or specialist contractor
· Familiarity with CWCT standards
· Knowledge of BIM files or 3D software would be advantageous but not essential

This is predominantly an office-based role located in Braintree, Essex. We will support home-working on an ad-hoc basis.
