We have an opening for a versatile electronic and mechanical assembly job in our small, fast-growing company, with the potential for growth opportunities linked to personal and business performance. We are looking for people enthusiastic about quality and productivity to join the Manufacturing department at our Attercliffe based site. Initially, the primary duties of this job would include:
- Building a range of laboratory equipment, which will involve the assembly of cables and wiring harnesses, electronic enclosures, and linear motion systems.
- Conducting quality assurance checks on assembled equipment, as well as maintaining records of equipment inspections and any test data generated.
- Maintaining stock levels of both completed equipment and associated constituent components, to meet wider sales and production demand.
Full training will be provided, but experience with electronics or mechanical tool usage is desirable.
The department is run with lean management techniques in mind, and we sell our specialist equipment directly to our customers. This minimises the requirement to work on the same process for long periods of time as we work on a varied mix of products in any one week, as determined by the “pull” from our customers. The ability to prioritise and be flexible is valued highly, as is the ability to work independently but candidates must be diligent and alert in spotting and highlighting quality concerns.
Progression in this job will come from taking on responsibilities in areas such as training, stock management and quality control. Or from working with the product managers on longer term improvement projects. As well as the opportunity to help introduce newly developed equipment into our manufacturing processes.
- Good manual dexterity
- Methodical and diligent work ethic
- Health and safety awareness
- Attention to detail
- Highly organised and self-motivated
- Good communication skills
- Desire for learning and self-improvement
- UK work permit holder and/or the legal right to work in the UK
Your skills and experience may also include any of the following:
- Product packing and dispatch
- Managing incoming deliveries and conducting goods-in inspections
- Quality management practices
- Microsoft Access and databases
Joining our team means you become part of a forward-thinking organisation that values innovation, collaboration, and personal growth. At our Sheffield site, we offer:
- Competitive salaries with regular performance-based pay reviews
- A long-running, discretionary profit share scheme
- 24 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays
- Regular tea & cake company catch-ups
- Free on-site parking with marked bays
- Secure bike storage and shower facilities
- Open-plan, collaborative office/lab space
