Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a busy restaurant or hotel environment, supporting the culinary team in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen. The ideal candidate will be organised, hardworking, and eager to develop their skills within the hospitality industry. All positions are paid, including internships, and provide valuable experience in food preparation and service.
Duties
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision to support the kitchen team
- Wash, scrub, and sanitise dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment to meet health and safety standards
- Support with organising storage areas and ensuring stock is stored correctly
- Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with company policies
- Assist with setting up dining areas for service as required
- Follow hygiene protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment
Skills
- Previous experience in food preparation or working within a restaurant or hotel environment is desirable but not essential
- Basic understanding of kitchen safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Friendly attitude with excellent teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary operations and hospitality services
