Finishing Carpenter / Bespoke Wine Cellar Installer
Sorrells Custom Wine Cellars designs, manufactures and installs bespoke wine cellars for private clients, interior designers and luxury property developers across the UK, Europe and North America.
We are looking for an experienced finishing carpenter or high-end interiors installer to join our specialist installation team.
This is not a volume installation role, and it is not suited to someone whose experience is mainly general site carpentry or basic second fix. Our projects are bespoke, detailed and often carried out in completed or near-completed luxury properties, where accuracy, care and presentation matter as much as speed.
The right person will take pride in fine finishing, understand the standards expected in high-value homes and commercial interiors, and be comfortable working around clients, designers and other specialist contractors.
The Role
You will be responsible for installing bespoke wine cellars, specialist joinery and luxury interior features to a high visual standard.
Typical work will include:
- Installing bespoke manufactured joinery and cellar components
- Working in high-end residential and commercial environments
- Setting out, adjusting, scribing and finishing work neatly on site
- Protecting finished spaces and working cleanly in client properties
- Liaising professionally with clients, designers, contractors and the internal project team
- Identifying and solving site issues without compromising finish quality
- Completing site reports and project updates accurately
- Travelling across the UK, with occasional international projects
What We’re Looking For
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:
- Finishing carpentry
- Bespoke joinery installation
- Luxury interior fit-out
- High-end residential work
- Premium retail, hospitality or specialist interiors
- Kitchen or furniture installation only where the work has been high-spec, bespoke and detail-led
You should be able to show evidence of work where finish quality, precision and presentation were commercially important.
Essential Requirements
- Strong carpentry, joinery or high-end installation background
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work to exacting finish standards
- Professional, presentable and respectful manner
- Confidence working in occupied or high-value properties
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
- CSCS card, or willingness to maintain required site certification
This Role Will Suit Someone Who
- Notices small details before they become problems
- Takes ownership of the quality of their work
- Can work carefully without needing constant supervision
- Communicates calmly and professionally on site
- Respects clients, colleagues, property and finished spaces
- Enjoys specialist projects rather than repetitive installation work
- Wants to build long-term expertise in a niche luxury interiors sector
Package
- Full-time position
- Employed or self-employed arrangement considered
- Company transport provided
- Overtime available
- Based from Rayleigh, Essex
- UK travel required, with occasional international travel
