Job Summary:
Fleeto is seeking a skilled and experienced Service Technician to join our workshop team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing PCO rental vehicles to ensure they remain roadworthy and compliant with industry regulations. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail to maintain the highest standards of fleet reliability and customer satisfaction.
Vehicle Maintenance & Repairs:
- Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on PCO rental vehicles.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
- Carry out routine servicing, including oil changes, brake inspections, and tyre replacements.
- Ensure all repairs and replacements meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct post-repair road tests to confirm vehicle performance and safety.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services, and parts used.
- Ensure vehicles comply with TfL (Transport for London) and DVSA regulations.
- Assist in preparing vehicles for PCO licensing and MOT tests.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines in the workshop environment.
Operational Support:
- Work closely with the Fleet Management team to ensure efficient vehicle turnaround.
- Provide technical advice and support to customers regarding vehicle issues.
- Keep the workshop clean, organised, and stocked with essential tools and parts.
- Assist in emergency breakdowns and on-site repairs when necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, or Automotive Engineer.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent qualification).
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with hybrid and electric vehicles is a plus.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair manuals efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A full UK driving license is preferred.
