Padstow Boatyard is seeking a Marine Engineer to join our busy team, working on a range of new build, refit, and maintenance projects.
Work includes contracts supporting government and commercial fleets, alongside private and leisure vessels, offering a varied and interesting workload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and maintenance of marine mechanical systems
- Working on diesel engines, generators, propulsion, and steering systems
- Fault finding, diagnostics, and repair of marine equipment
- Interpreting and working from technical/engineering drawings
- Supporting new build and refit projects from installation through to testing
- Maintenance and servicing of yard equipment and machinery
- Keeping maintenance records and producing basic reports
Requirements:
- Experience in marine engineering or a strong mechanical engineering background
- Ability to diagnose faults and solve problems independently
- Experience working with mechanical/propulsion systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
