Job Summary
Alibaba Cloud Intelligence is seeking an experienced Generative AI Business Development Manager to drive the growth of our Model as a Service (MaaS) and AI solutions business across the UK and European markets. In this role, you will focus on acquiring and growing relationships with AI-native startups, scale-ups, and enterprises adopting generative AI technologies. You will work with our cutting-edge large language models, including the globally recognized Qwen model family, our PAI machine learning platform, and high-performance GPU computing services.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in business development, B2B sales, account management, or partnerships within cloud computing, AI/ML, or enterprise software industries.
- Sales Record: Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and revenue quotas.
- Technical Literacy: Strong understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, including large language models (LLMs), generative AI, and model training/inference workflows.
- Network: Existing professional network within the UK or European tech startup ecosystem and enterprise AI community.
- Language: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling directly to technical buyers and decision-makers (CTOs, ML engineers, data scientists).
- Familiarity with competitive cloud AI offerings such as AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, or GCP Vertex AI.
- Previous background working in a hyper-growth AI startup or a major cloud service provider.
- Professional fluency in additional European languages (such as German, Spanish, or Dutch).
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, engage, and build deep relationships with AI-native companies, AI startups, research institutions, and enterprises pursuing AI transformation.
- Drive revenue growth for Alibaba Cloud's MaaS offerings, including the Qwen (Tongyi) model family, PAI platform, and GPU computing services.
- Develop and execute go-to-market (GTM) strategies for AI/ML products tailored specifically to the European market.
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, industry events, ecosystem partnerships, and referral networks.
- Collaborate closely with solution architects and technical teams to deliver customized proposals and product demonstrations.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial lead generation and qualification to negotiation and contract signing.
- Gather market intelligence and customer feedback to inform product roadmaps and localization efforts.
- Represent Alibaba Cloud at major AI conferences, developer meetups, and industry forums across Europe.
