Portland Supported Living is seeking an experienced and motivated Night Senior to join our leadership team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred support and who is ready to take on a leadership role within a growing and dynamic supported living service.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing designated bungalows and supporting their core staff teams. The role combines operational leadership, staff development, quality assurance, compliance, and professional liaison responsibilities, while also acting as the lead operational manager during night shifts.
About the Role
As a Night Senior , you will play a key role in supporting both the people we support and the staff teams who work alongside them. You will be responsible for ensuring high standards of care, documentation, compliance and service delivery across your allocated services.
You will work closely with the wider management team to drive continuous improvement, support staff development and promote positive outcomes for the people we support.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and oversight of allocated bungalows and staff teams.
- Conducting staff supervisions, competency assessments and performance discussions.
- Facilitating house meetings and supporting resident engagement.
- Completion and oversight of weekly and monthly audits.
- Reviewing and updating support plans and risk assessments.
- Producing professional reports and updates for social workers, commissioners and other stakeholders.
- Attending MDT meetings and representing the service professionally.
- Supporting safeguarding, incident management and risk reduction processes.
- Ensuring actions arising from audits, incidents and reviews are completed.
- Supporting recruitment, induction and development of staff.
- Acting as the senior operational lead during night shifts.
- Coordinating staffing and responding to operational issues, incidents and emergencies.
- Maintaining compliance with regulatory and organisational requirements.
- Supporting continuous quality improvement across the service.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a senior, team leader or supervisory role within health and social care.
- Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and/or complex behaviours.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Experience conducting supervisions, audits or quality checks.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records and reports.
- A commitment to person-centred support and positive outcomes.
- A flexible approach to working and supporting the needs of the service.
Additional Requirements
- Participation in the management on-call rota (currently operating on a 1 in 6 rotation).
- Flexibility to attend meetings, reviews and service requirements as needed.
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
