Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Ground Worker to join our team, responsible for supporting various landscaping, construction, and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in horticulture and gardening, with practical experience in landscape maintenance and the use of power tools. Duties
- Assisting with landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, pruning, and lawn care
- Operating hand tools, power tools, and irrigation equipment safely and efficiently
- Supporting excavation activities using machinery such as excavators under supervision
- Performing general maintenance of outdoor areas to ensure safety and aesthetic standards
- Assisting with construction-related activities including site preparation and material handling
- Maintaining equipment and tools in good working order through routine checks and minor repairs
- Supporting team members with specialised horticultural or gardening tasks as required
- Ensuring work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Practical experience or knowledge in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is desirable
- Mechanical knowledge related to the operation and maintenance of power tools and machinery
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems effectively
- Experience operating excavators or other construction machinery is advantageous but not essential
- Strong understanding of site safety procedures and maintenance practices
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions with physical endurance for manual tasks
- A valid PERSON (or equivalent) construction or safety certification is preferred but not mandatory
- Prior experience in construction or gardening roles will be considered an asset
