JOB TITLE:
Care Assistant
RESPONSIBLE TO:
Senior Carer, Floor Co-ordinator, Deputy Manager
Purpose of position
To assist in the day to day running of the home and operate as an effective member of the team
· Demonstrate good working practices at all times
· Ensure that the privacy and dignity of Residents is upheld at all times
· To communicate effectively with all residents and their representatives and report to the Senior as required
· To maintain good communication with other members of the team and the Senior through regular updates
· To ensure good documentation in the Care Plan and if necessary the handover sheet.
Qualifications/Knowledge
· Possess accreditation at SVQ/NVQ Level 2 in Social Care or related subject
· Experience of working with the elderly or those with care needs
Key Responsibilities
· To demonstrate best working practice in every aspect of the highest standard care delivery to all residents
· To ensure that the Care Plans are completed with accuracy each shift, and that documentation is clear and precise.
· To monitor the residents nutritional and fluid intake status and report any concerns to the Senior or Deputy.
· Perform all care duties ensuring accordance with Infection Control and Health & Safety policies
· Maintain a safe environment for residents and staff by reporting any potential hazards identified
· Report all incidents or accidents immediately to senior staff and complete appropriate paperwork
· Accompany residents attending hospital appointments etc when needed
· Attend all staff meetings and statutory training sessions as requested
· Where needed, orientate and assist any new Care staff
· Maintain total confidentiality at all times
· Read and adhere to all Care Home policies
· Be a role model for all care staff by displaying loyalty, flexibility and willingness to adapt to change where needed
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.73-£13.21 per hour
