Overview
We are seeking a proactive and dynamic Shop Assistant to join our Ice Cream Parlour team. The ideal candidate will require excellent communication skills, patience, be trustworthy and honest and be able to work with others. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop management skills within a vibrant environment, contributing to a positive shopping experience for our customers.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their enquiries in a professional manner
- Serve Ice Cream, sundaes and milkshakes in a timely manner.
- Manage sales transactions efficiently using the point-of-sale system
- Organise merchandise displays and ensure the shop floor is tidy and attractive
- Restock shelves and manage inventory levels to meet customer demand
- Supervise junior staff or interns, providing guidance and support as needed
- Oversee daily shop operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Manage the shops security policies. (Alarms/Key Holder).
- Maintain accurate administrative records related to sales, stock, and staff schedules
- Report ALL non -conformances immediately.
- Collaborate with management on promotional activities and sales strategies
- Follow Health and Safety Regulations in all matters.
Requirements
- Must be able to effectively work with colleagues
- Must be over 18 years of age
- Must be able to manage stressful situations
- Must be flexible and willing to work evenings as well as weekends.
- Must be able to maximise customer satisfaction
- Must be honest and trustworthy
- Must be focused, motivated and procative
- Must be able to operate tills including National Lottery
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with experience in team management and supervising staff or interns
- Good time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently throughout shifts
- Administrative experience including record keeping, stock control, and reporting
- Proficiency in merchandising techniques and understanding of retail best practices
- Ability to maintain professional phone etiquette at all times
- Organisational skills to coordinate various shop functions seamlessly
- Liaise with social media team with day to day running
- Attend events if required such as Highland Show with running of stand.
