AB Temporary Fencing Limited is a growing UK manufacturer of temporary fencing products supplying the construction, events, and infrastructure sectors. Due to continued expansion, we are looking for a reliable and hardworking Counterbalance Forklift Driver / Warehouse Operative to join our manufacturing team.
This is a varied hands-on role involving forklift operation, warehouse duties, stock handling, loading and unloading vehicles, and assisting within our manufacturing and fabrication department. Applicants with welding or metal fabrication experience are particularly encouraged to apply.
The Role
Working as part of our production and warehouse team, your duties will include:
- Operating a Counterbalance Forklift (3.5 Tonne and above)
- Loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently
- Moving raw materials and finished products throughout the factory and warehouse
- Preparing customer orders for dispatch
- Safely stacking and storing goods
- Carrying out stock handling and inventory checks
- Assisting with general warehouse and factory duties
- Keeping work areas clean, organised, and safe
- Supporting the manufacture and assembly of temporary fencing products
- Assisting with basic fabrication and welding tasks where appropriate
- Carrying out daily forklift safety checks and reporting any defects
Requirements
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (3.5 Tonne+)
- Previous forklift driving experience in a warehouse, factory, or industrial environment
- Good understanding of warehouse health and safety procedures
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Skills
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
- MIG welding experience
- Metal fabrication experience
- Manufacturing or assembly experience
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Previous work within construction products or steel fabrication
