Red Lion, Lower Withington is a rural pub 6 miles from Macclesfield. There is no public transport to our pub so you will need your own transport.
We are currently undergoing a huge refurbishment, which will increase our capacity and cover size. We are due to re open on 22nd June 2026 and are looking to recruit and train in the run up to our relaunch.
It's a very exciting time to join our team as we move into our new refurbished phase of business.
Job Summary
We are looking for experienced and bar and front of house staff to join our amazing team.
The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering warm and relaxed customer service in our lovely pub.
Previous experience in a restaurant or bar setting is required and full training will be provided.

Responsibilities
- Taking orders accurately and entering those into a point of sale machine.
- Serving food and beverages in a friendly, professional manner
- Pouring drinks according to established standards
- Ensuring the cleanliness and organisation of the bar and front of house areas
- Handling cash and card transactions efficiently using point-of-sale systems
- Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene at all times
- Assisting with setting up tables, clearing after service, and resetting areas for new guests
- Providing excellent customer service by engaging with guests, answering questions, and addressing any concerns promptly
- Upselling sides, desserts, coffees and specials from our delicious menu
- Managing time effectively during busy periods to ensure smooth service flow
- Supporting team members as needed to deliver a seamless guest experience
Requirements
- Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant is essential
- Professional presentation and self care
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is desirable
- Strong serving skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
- Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently during busy shifts
- Ability to work well within a team as well as independently when required
- A positive attitude with a genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service
- Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, or peak hours as needed
Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
