Land Surveyor Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C
As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Marine and Tunnels Section.
What will you do?
Key Responsibilities
- Champion a Zero Harm and sustainability-led approach
- Manage, supervise, mentor, and train survey teams
- Deliver survey outputs to programme deadlines and site tolerances
- Plan and lead safe systems of work, including site briefings, WPPs, RAs, TBS, and Toolbox Talks
- Take responsibility for personal and team health & safety, hazard identification, and observation reporting
- Provide daily site safety briefings (SMSTS essential)
- Undertake and oversee engineering surveying activities and independent construction-stage checks
- Ensure compliance with survey QA, BMS equipment checks, and ITP hold-point requirements
- Manage survey data collection, processing, verification, secure storage, and issue in agreed formats
- Produce as-built drawings using survey-specific software
- Support site engineers with drawings, schedules, and digital models
- Maintain accurate site, survey, QA, and record-keeping documentation
- Complete and submit weekly timesheets and required project records
- Maintain inventory of survey equipment and consumables and advise on procurement
- Maintain professional competence, including SMSTS qualification, CInstCES membership (or working towards), and agreed training

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Strong willingness to learn and develop within a survey team
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong IT capability and digital literacy
- Ability to build effective working relationships across project teams
- Knowledge of settlement monitoring systems, geodetic requirements, and modern survey methods
- Experience with latest survey equipment, software, and technologies
- Experience establishing and managing GNSS networks
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Strong understanding of design, construction, and surveying in a construction environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience using survey and processing software, including Autodesk Civil 3D
Essential
- Relevant degree, diploma, or equivalent industry-recognised qualification
- Valid CSCS card
