Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant (Nights) to join our team in providing exceptional care within a care home setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting residents during overnight hours, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Responsibilities
- Oversee and supervise the night-shift team, ensuring high standards of care are maintained at all times
- Provide personalised support to residents, assisting with daily activities and personal care needs during the night
- Implement and review individualised care plans in collaboration with the wider care team
- Monitor residents’ health and well-being throughout the night, recognising any changes or concerns promptly
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, incidents, and observations in accordance with company policies
- Support residents with mobility, medication administration, and emotional reassurance as required
- Lead by example to promote a safe, respectful, and friendly environment for residents and staff alike
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, residents, and their families to ensure clarity and continuity of care
Skills
- Proven experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior care
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, and team members
- Ability to develop and follow detailed care plans tailored to individual needs
- Competent IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Driving licence is advantageous for transport requirements
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and compliance with health & safety regulations
