Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Takeaway Assistant to join our busy food service team. This role involves supporting the smooth operation of our takeaway service, ensuring customers receive high-quality meals in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent customer service skills, and experience working in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Responsibilities
- Prepare and package takeaway meals according to company standards and food safety regulations
- Assist in meal preparation and food presentation to ensure quality and consistency
- Support kitchen staff with food safety practices, including hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Serve customers at the counter or via takeaway orders, providing friendly and efficient service
- Handle cash transactions accurately and operate POS systems as required
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to promote a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant settings is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of food preparation, meal assembly, and kitchen safety procedures
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour when interacting with customers
- Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment
- Basic understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including evenings and weekends if required
