Tempest Education is proud to be working in partnership with an ambitious and values-driven specialist education provider to recruit a Headteacher for one of its SEND provisions.
The School in the Barnwood area of Gloucester is a specialist independent school for children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Operating under a Learning Partnership, it provides an experiential curriculum focused on therapeutic support, Forest School sessions, and life skills.
Seeking an Headteacher to provide strategic leadership, drive school improvement, and create a culture where pupils, staff, and families thrive. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future direction of the school, ensuring every young person receives the highest quality education, care, and support.
About the Role
As Headteacher, you will lead all aspects of school life, providing clear vision, direction, and accountability across teaching and learning, safeguarding, curriculum development, staff performance, and pupil outcomes.
Working closely with senior leaders, families, and external professionals, you will ensure the school delivers an exceptional educational experience while maintaining the highest standards of compliance, wellbeing, and inclusion.

We Are Looking For
An experienced and passionate leader who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has successful experience as a Headteacher or an exceptional Deputy Headteacher ready to take the next step.
- Demonstrates a proven track record of driving school improvement and raising standards.
- Has extensive experience working with SEND and/or SEMH pupils.
- Is committed to inclusive education and improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.
- Can inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Possesses strong strategic, operational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Has a thorough understanding of safeguarding, curriculum development, and school accountability frameworks.
