Job Title: Occupational Therapist – Eating Disorders Service (Children, Young People & Young Adults)

Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting for a skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to join a specialist eating disorders service supporting children, adolescents, and young adults. This is a highly rewarding role within a leading inpatient and outpatient treatment pathway focused on recovery, rehabilitation, and long-term wellbeing.
Job Purpose
You will deliver high-quality, patient-centred occupational therapy interventions to individuals with complex eating disorders across inpatient and outpatient settings. Working within a multidisciplinary team (MDT), you will support patients through structured therapeutic programmes designed to improve functional ability, independence, and recovery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of patients with complex mental health and eating disorder needs
- Undertake comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, care planning, and intervention delivery
- Design and deliver individual and group therapy programmes tailored to patient needs
- Conduct risk assessments and contribute to safeguarding processes in line with policy and legislation
- Develop and evaluate structured therapeutic activity timetables, including monthly engagement analysis
- Work collaboratively with the MDT (nursing, psychiatry, psychology, dietetics, and clinical teams)
- Engage with families and carers as part of the treatment and recovery process
- Contribute to service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, reports, and care plans
- Support junior staff supervision, training, and reflective practice sessions
- Promote social inclusion, recovery-focused care, and occupational wellbeing
- Ensure compliance with HCPC standards, COT professional guidelines, safeguarding, and NHS-equivalent best practice

Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration (essential)
- Experience working within mental health settings (essential)
- Experience with eating disorders, CAMHS, or young adult services (desirable)
- Strong experience working within a multidisciplinary team (MDT)
- Ability to manage a complex clinical caseload independently
- Experience delivering both individual and group interventions
- Knowledge of risk assessment, safeguarding, and clinical governance
- Strong communication, documentation, and report-writing skills
- Experience supervising or supporting junior staff (desirable)
