Job Summary
Roscoe Tree Services Ltd is looking for a hardworking and reliable Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team on a full-time basis. This role involves working across a variety of sites carrying out grounds maintenance, vegetation management, and tree-related works.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about outdoor work, have a strong work ethic, and be committed to maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship. Experience and relevant certificates are preferred but not essential, as training can be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Grass cutting using pedestrian and ride-on mowers.
- Strimming, edging, and general vegetation management.
- Weed control and herbicide application.
- Hedge cutting, pruning, and general grounds maintenance.
- Chainsaw work and assisting with tree surgery operations.
- Site clearance and removal of green waste.
- Operating and maintaining grounds maintenance equipment and machinery.
- Carrying out daily equipment checks and basic maintenance.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
- Working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Essential Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or over for insurance purposes.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Physically fit and capable of undertaking manual work.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, arboriculture, forestry, or a similar role.
- Chainsaw qualifications (NPTC/Lantra or equivalent).
- PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates.
- Experience using mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters, and other grounds maintenance equipment.
- Relevant horticultural, landscaping, or arboricultural qualifications.
Training can be provided for suitable candidates who demonstrate the right attitude and willingness to learn.
