HGV Mechanic
Location: Thetford
Hourly rate: £22.00 + Overtime paid at £33.00
Hours: 6am to 2pm week 1 & 2pm to 10pm week 2
Days: Monday to Friday
Overview
We are recruiting an experienced HGV Mechanic to join a busy, well-established commercial vehicle workshop. Due to ongoing growth and new contract wins, our client is expanding their team and looking for a skilled technician to support their service and repair operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out maintenance, repairs and overhauls on a range of HGVs and trailers
- Complete routine servicing, diagnostics and fault-finding
- Follow the full repair process from initial inspection to job completion
- Conduct routine checks, safety inspections and pre-MOT preparation
- Work to high standards to ensure vehicles are safe, roadworthy and compliant
Requirements:
- Previous experience within an HGV dealership or fleet workshop
- NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
- Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced workshop
