Overview
We are seeking a skilled Marble & Granite Saw Operative to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating saws and related equipment to cut and shape marble and granite materials with precision and efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in fabrication, mechanical knowledge, or warehouse experience to develop their skills within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate specialised saws and machinery to accurately cut marble and granite slabs according to specified measurements and designs
- Use hand tools, tooling, and CAD software to assist in the fabrication process
- Handle materials safely within the warehouse environment, ensuring proper materials handling techniques
- Perform basic maintenance on equipment, including troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLCs) where applicable
- Assist with assembly tasks, including fitting and finishing pieces as required
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Support welding or milling tasks as part of the fabrication process when necessary
- Read technical drawings and use basic maths skills to verify measurements
Skills
- Proven experience in fabrication, CAD design, or materials handling is advantageous
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and milling equipment is desirable
- Mechanical knowledge related to tools, tooling, welding, and assembly processes
- Proficiency with hand tools and basic maths for measurement accuracy
- Warehouse experience or previous work in a manufacturing environment is beneficial
- Ability to operate CAD software such as SolidWorks for design verification
- Strong understanding of materials handling procedures and safety protocols
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in cutting precision and quality control
