Key Worker – Semi‑Independent Provision (Ofsted Registered)

Role Overview
The Key Worker plays a central role in supporting young people aged 16–18 within our Ofsted‑registered semi‑independent service. You will provide consistent guidance, emotional support, and practical life‑skills development to help each young person progress safely toward independence.
This role includes sleep‑in shifts paid at £108.04 per shift, with additional hourly pay for any time worked beyond the initial 8.5 hours when the young person is awake. Pay enhancements are available for Level 4 and Level 5 qualifications, and overall salary progression is negotiable based on experience and accreditation.
Key Responsibilities
- Young Person Support — Build trusting relationships, provide emotional and practical support, and promote independence.
- Care Planning — Contribute to individual support plans, risk assessments, and pathway plans.
- Daily Living Skills — Support young people with budgeting, education, employment, health, and household management.
- Safeguarding — Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all young people, following safeguarding procedures at all times.
- Record Keeping — Maintain accurate, timely records in line with regulatory standards.
- Multi‑Agency Working — Liaise with social workers, education providers, health professionals, and external agencies.
- Shift Responsibilities — Complete sleep‑in duties, respond to incidents, and provide overnight reassurance as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Level 3 accredited qualification in Health & Social Care, Children & Young People, or equivalent (essential).
- Level 4 or Level 5 qualification (desirable, with negotiable pay increase).
- Experience working with vulnerable young people, care leavers, or within supported accommodation.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries, and trauma‑informed practice.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
