REPORTING TO: Production Manager
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Weighing-Up
OVERVIEW OF JOB: To collect, decant and weigh out ingredients for
production and return to store. To maintain hygiene
standards within the Department including utensils,
containers and equipment. To follow stock rotation
and traceability/labelling procedures and complete all necessary quality control and traceability paperwork.
KEY DUTIES:
To assist and maintain food safety certification to the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety.
To liaise with Production Manager/Technical Department to submit paperwork for daily production requirements.
To order key ingredients for future production.
To weigh out dry and chilled ingredients, following instructions / recipe specifications.
Ensuring the quality of the final product is to specification. To regularly check the mixture to ensure it meets set standards and make adjustments as necessary.
Detecting and reporting mechanical issues to minimize downtime and product defects.
To be responsible for ensuring agreed hygiene standards of utensils, containers, equipment and area are maintained.
To ensure all batch/GRN codes and use by dates are recorded on traceability sheets to meet the company standards.
Using temperature probes, carry out temperature and quality control checks.
Ensuring proper storage of products and equipment as per company procedures.
To adopt a system of ‘clean as you go’ to ensure hygiene standards are achieved and maintained.
To follow safety protocols, including hazardous material handling and PPE requirements, to ensure a safe working environment.
To ensure food safety policies and statutory requirements are adhered to by all members of the team.
To report any evidence of unsafe or out of specification product or raw materials to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate action.
GENERAL DUTIES:
To attend and contribute to management food safety and quality meetings.
To attend any recommended training and development opportunities as requested.
To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Managing Director.
Pay: £13.12 per hour
