We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety Manager to join our clients team based in Solihull!
Our client is a well-established, expanding and reputable firm looking to appointment a Health and Safety Manager to oversee all things health and safety.
We are pleased to be able to offer this role on a full time, permanent basis. Therefore, if successful, you'll be employed directly by our client on a permanent contract.
What you'll be doing:
Our client operates in the construction sector.
You'll be responsible for all things health and safety. Duties will include:
- Creating / reviewing RAMS
- Reviewing site accident reports and investigating / reporting findings to management
- Visit construction sites to conduct health and safety assessments'
- Ensure the company and its staff abide by health and safety rules and conduct random audits ensuring operations are in line with current health and safety legislation
- Attend meetings with clients and management to advise on health and safety related enquires
- Ensure company procedures and policies are kept up to date
- Prepare for HSE inspections / audits as and when required
- Conduct / complete required health and safety training with staff
- Ensure subcontractors are working in line with health and safety
You'll be taking over from the existing Health and Safety Manager, so processes and policies are already in place. You will, however, have the free rein to change / improve processes.
Hours:
Monday - Friday 8AM to 5PM.
The role is mostly office based, with an average of 1-2 days spent visiting sites.
Pay:
£50,000.00 - £55,000.00 per year, depending on experience.
Experience / Qualifications required:
- You must have a strong commercial construction background, supermarket experience is desired but not essential
- You must be NEBOSH qualified
- Must understand/ have experience in groundworks and commercial fitouts
- At least 3-5 years’ experience as a health and safety manager in the construction sector.
