You will be expected to provide one to one support to a 26-year-old female who has an acquired brain injury, she is located in Much Birch, Herefordshire. This will be for 20 hours, over 5 days a week, and is based on 4 hours a day. The rate of pay will be above the standard national wage and is negotiable depending on experience. The ideal candidate will need to be a female with a full UK driving license. As the employer, I am wanting a PA to be patient, empathetic, encouraging and fully understanding to my requirements.
The successful candidate will be a PA to an independent and determined individual who has received very intense rehabilitation, and enjoys living life to the full and enjoys travelling. The main factors that impact my day-to-day life, is managing my fatigue, supporting with mobility as being fatigued can impact this, giving me reminders for appointments and daily tasks, as I suffer with memory loss. Daily Job expectations
· Help to support in managing fatigue.
· Supporting with time management
· Support with household duties, eg. Cleaning, laundry, bed changing, emptying bins etc.
· On occasion supporting with food preparation
· Driving to and from medical and personal appointments, social visits to family & friends
· Running errands such as, picking up prescriptions, posting parcels/mail.
· Supporting with food shopping
· Providing companionship
· On occasion providing emotional support
· On occasion, liaising with other professionals, eg, GP, physiotherapists, social workers etc.
· Supporting to look after a small dog, eg, walking, feeding, vet visits.
· Supporting to understand mail eg, utility bills etc.
· Supporting with mobility on occasion, e.g., steps without handrail, uneven ground, when fatigued
· Reminding of appointments (checking diary daily)
· Booking appointments for therapies
· Reminding to check emails, supporting with complex phone calls.
Having an understanding of the daily impact of living with a brain injury (free training can be provided).
Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
