38.5 hours per week (6.00am to 2.30pm Monday to Thursday / 6.00am to 12.30pm Friday)
Overview:-
Knott-Avonride Ltd manufactures light trailer axles and are seeking a skilled welder to join our well-established production operation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of welding techniques and be proficient in fabricating and assembling metal components. This role requires attention to detail as well as a mechanical knowledge.
The Role:-
- Work in an axle production environment producing welded assemblies for trailer applications to meet schedules and customer demand.
- Read and follow Work Instructions.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Operate any required power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
- Compliance with all quality documents and procedures.
- Observe time keeping and absenteeism procedures.
- Compliance with Company safety procedures and housekeeping requirements.
Skills & Attributes:-
- Experience and evidence of MIG welding operations and capability of producing welds to the required standard.
- Experience of working in an engineering/production environment.
- A basic understanding of engineering drawings and bills of materials is preferred.
- Basic maths skills for measuring and calculating dimensions accurately.
- Good work ethic, reliability and honest approach.
- Good attendance and punctuality.
- Attention to detail.
- Be a committed individual, as this role is permanent from the outset and we are looking for a long-term hire.
