Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced End Welder to join a rolling mill production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding strip ends safely and efficiently to maintain continuous mill operation, minimise downtime, and support production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform end welding of steel strip/coils during rolling mill operations.
- Prepare strip ends for welding using cutting, grinding, and alignment equipment.
- Operate welding machinery and related tools safely and efficiently.
- Inspect weld quality and ensure compliance with production standards.
- Support continuous rolling operations by reducing delays and maintaining workflow.
- Work closely with mill operators, maintenance teams, and supervisors.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Complete production and quality documentation as required.
- Assist with housekeeping and maintaining a clean work area.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a rolling mill, steel manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment preferred.
- Experience with MIG, TIG, flash butt, or automated welding systems advantageous.
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible approach to shift work, including nights and weekends if required.
Desirable Skills
- Overhead crane or forklift licence.
- Basic mechanical knowledge.
- Experience working in continuous production environments.

- Rotating shift pattern – Week 1 – 6am-2pm, Week 2 2pm-10pm
