Autism Teaching Assistant – Full Time
Are you passionate about supporting children with Autism in a primary school setting? We have a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate Autism Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive mainstream primary school.
Role Details:
- Position: Autism Teaching Assistant - Working with a small group in Year 3
- Location: Hammersmith
- Start Date: Immediate (May 2026)
- Duration: Long term, for the remainder of the academic year
- Pay Rate: £93 - £100 per day, depending on experience
- Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide group support to children with Autism, helping them engage in classroom activities and taking them outside of class for small group interventions
- Assist the class teacher with creating and adapting tasks that cater to individual needs
- Support the emotional, social, and academic development of children with Autism
- Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for the child
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children with Autism, ideally in a primary school setting
- A calm, patient, and positive approach to helping children overcome challenges
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with staff and families
- A Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is desirable
- Ability to carry out small group interventions and mark group work
