About the Role:
We are looking for caring and responsible individuals to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) during their journeys to and from school. You will work alongside a driver in private hire vehicles or minibuses (up to 16 seats), ensuring passengers feel safe, comfortable, and supported throughout their journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the driver to ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers.
- Help passengers embark and disembark, including supporting those with disabilities in line with Health & Safety requirements.
- Monitor and supervise passengers during transit, ensuring their welfare throughout the journey.
- Operate passenger lifts or other boarding equipment when required.
- Secure wheelchairs correctly using appropriate safety equipment.
- Ensure passengers in wheelchairs are fitted with a full lap and diagonal safety belt or equivalent securing system.
- Communicate with passengers and clients in a patient, respectful, and informative manner.
- Report delays or incidents promptly in accordance with company procedures.
- Keep the allocated vehicle secure at all times.
- Use communication equipment correctly to maintain safe and efficient service operations.

Recruitment for this role is aligned with the new school term starting 1st September 2026. From the week commencing 24th August 2026, successful applicants will be required to attend induction, training, and meet the children and families they will support to ensure a smooth start to the school year.
