A Primary school in Cirencester is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from Term 6 on a full-time basis, with the opportunity for the role to continue into the next academic year.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs within a nurturing and supportive school environment. The school is looking for somebody who is patient, proactive, and genuinely passionate about helping children feel supported, understood, and successful within the classroom.
You will be supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2 who may present with a variety of SEND needs including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH needs, and moderate learning difficulties. Support may take place within the classroom, through targeted interventions, or on a 1:1 basis depending on the needs of the pupils.
Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils to access learning within the classroom
- Delivering targeted interventions and small group support
- Working closely with class teachers and SEND staff
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Adapting learning and communication approaches to meet individual needs
- Encouraging pupil confidence, independence, and engagement
- Helping create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
- Flexible, patient, and adaptable approach
- Strong understanding of SEND needs within a Primary setting
- Positive and nurturing attitude towards supporting children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Passionate about inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
- UK-based experience working with children is essential
