Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Waiting Staff Member to join our vibrant hospitality team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional guest service, ensuring a memorable dining experience for all patrons. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a welcoming environment. Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is advantageous, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally valued. The successful applicant will be organised, efficient, and passionate about providing outstanding guest care.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems or manually
- Serve meals and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation standards
- Ensure guest satisfaction by checking in during their meal and addressing any needs or concerns
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of service areas, including tables, trays, and stations
- Follow food safety protocols and hygiene standards at all times
- Assist with basic food preparation or garnishing as required
- Handle payments accurately and provide correct change or receipts
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders
Requirements
- Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant service, or related roles is preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper serving techniques
- Basic maths skills for handling payments and bills accurately
- Excellent time management skills to serve multiple tables efficiently
- Strong guest service skills with a friendly, professional demeanour
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Kitchen or culinary experience is a plus but not mandatory
- Good organisational skills to keep workstations tidy and stocked throughout shifts
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including evenings and weekends if required
