White Horse Employment are delighted to be exclusively partnering with a well-established and growing group to recruit a Management Accountant for their Bristol office.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to take full ownership of a business unit, acting as the key finance contact for the site and partnering closely with operational leaders to drive performance. The role offers genuine scope for development, with a clear pathway into a broader Group-level finance position as you establish yourself within the business.
You'll be joining a collaborative and high-performing finance team where you'll have the autonomy to influence decision-making, improve processes, and make a visible impact on the commercial success of the operation.
The Role
As Management Accountant, you will be responsible for the financial management and performance reporting of a key business unit. Your responsibilities will include:
- Producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including detailed analysis and commentary
- Taking ownership of performance, providing financial insight and highlighting key risks and opportunities
- Partnering with operational and senior management teams to support commercial and strategic decision-making
- Preparing budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to aid business planning
- Driving improvements across financial processes, controls, and reporting to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Managing balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, and other key financial controls
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function
- Assisting with the development and mentoring of junior finance team members
- Collaborating with the wider finance team to ensure consistency of reporting and best practice across the group
About You
- Experience within a Management Accountant, Assistant Finance Manager, or similar finance role
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or candidates actively studying towards qualification
- A commercial mindset and a desire to contribute to business performance, not just reporting
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to build relationships across all levels of the organisation
- Ambition to progress within a growing business and take on wider responsibilities over time
Why Apply?
This is far more than a traditional management accounting role. It offers the opportunity to become the finance lead for a key site, gain valuable business partnering exposure, and build a clear route towards a wider Group finance role. If you're looking for a position where you can take ownership, influence decision-making, and accelerate your career progression, this could be the ideal next step.
